'He has NZ and Samoa behind him' - Anthony Joshua's promoter says Joseph Parker tougher than Klitschko

March 22, 2018

Eddie Hearn didn’t hold back in his praise of the unbeaten Kiwi.

Anthony Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn has praised Kiwi heavyweight Joseph Parker, as the two prepare to meet in the ring on April 1 in Cardiff.

WBO champion Parker will square off against the unbeaten IBF and WBA champion Joshua, with Hearn believing that the Kiwi presents as tough of a challenge as the legendary Wladimir Klitschko - whom his fighter defeated spectacularly in 2017.

"He's a younger man - obviously. He's a proud man, I think he has New Zealand and Samoa behind him almost like a complete nation, and he won't give in," Hearn told 1 NEWS.

"He's going to be very stubborn, he's fast, he's undefeated, he's got good foot movement, they say he's got a great chin."

"A lot of respect between the two (fighters) ultimately, both fighters desperate to win, both camps desperate to win, so much on the line - for both of them."
