'He does everything well' - Boxing guru backs Joseph Parker over Anthony Joshua

March 21, 2018

The Kiwi heavyweight will push himself harder than ever before for the April 1 bout.

Famed English boxing pundit Steve Bunce has thrown his support behind Kiwi heavyweight Joseph Parker, ahead of his anticipated world title unification bout with Anthony Joshua.

Parker, 26, will meet Joshua in the ring at Cardiff's Millenium Stadium on April 1, with the winner to take home the WBO, WBA and IBF heavyweight world titles.

Talking to the BBC, Bunce made it clear that he rates Parker as the better of the two contenders.

The Kiwi heavyweight is looking good as his April 1 fight looms.

"Without a doubt the better professional boxer right now, not the most explosive, not the most popular, but the better professional boxer, the better schooled, the guy who has got the better skillset looking at a 12 round fight is without a doubt Joseph Parker," he said.

"When you look at Joseph Parker he is one of those fighters that doesn't do anything brilliantly but he does everything well, including taking a shot."

"As a pro what he has done is get an awful lot of rounds. Three of his world title fights have gone the 12 rounds and he had done 12 rounds before that. And some of them weren't easy, he had to think."

Parker is currently in London, training for the fight on April 1 NZT.
