Hamilton's Sevens organisers looking to Pasifika fans for atmosphere at this year's event

A Pacific Trust has been recruited to offer fans discounted, and even free tickets.

Hamilton Sevens organisers are looking to Pasifika fans to create a real atmosphere at this weekend's tournament.

Waiata Artist Trust has been recruited by New Zealand Rugby to generate enthusiasm amongst fans.

"When there is a good buzz in the area, our people just let loose and I think this is what we want to provide Aotearoa with that exuberant excitement our people have," said Waiata Trust member Will 'Ilolahia.

"The players themselves have informed me they get an extra boost of 20-30 per cent energy and adrenaline to help them get over the line."

A pacific block party area has been set up at the Waikato Stadium for fans.

"When the Tongans are on everyone will be in red, when the Fijians are on everyone will be in white," said 'Ilolahia.

Organisers hope the pacific community will buy discounted tickets through the Waiata Artist Trust Facebook page to support their island teams.
