Springboks legend Joel Stransky has suffered a nasty fall while competing in a mountain bike race, leaving him bloodied and battered.

Stransky, 49, suffered a punctured lung and a broken rib during during the Absa Cape Epic mountain bike event in Cape Town, South Africa yesterday.
A photo posted on Twitter shows Stransky with blood covering most of his face.
Stransky played 22 Tests for South Africa from 1993 to 1996.
During the 1995 Rugby World Cup final he famously slotted the drop goal that ultimately clinched victory for South Africa over New Zealand.
