'Good to finally meet him!' Joseph Parker on first encounter with Anthony Joshua

The two unbeaten heavyweights came face to face in London this morning.

Kiwi heavyweight Joseph Parker has opened up about finally coming face to face with British fighter Joseph Parker, as the two prepare for a unification mega fight in Cardiff.

The two unbeaten champions met for the first time in London this morning, having confirmed their bout on April 1.

Speaking to 1 NEWS, Parker spoke about his excitement upon meeting his next opponent.

The two fighters have become embroiled in a pre-fight war of words with one another.

"It was good to finally meet him properly!" Parker said.

"Standing in front of him, those stare offs are pretty cool."

Parker also spoke about what the fight means to him, easily the biggest bout of his career.

The Kiwi heavyweight will face Anthony Joshua in front of 80,000 people on April 1.

"I can say it's going to be a great challenge."

"I can see in his eyes he's going to be prepared - hopefully he can see it in mine, It's going to be a great fight."

The two unbeaten champions will face off in Cardiff on April 1.

"I'm looking forward to the pain, I'm looking forward to the restless nights, I'm looking forward to putting on a great performance."
