Finalists announced for New Zealand's Favourite Sporting Moment of 2019

The finalists for the Halberg Awards New Zealand's Favourite Sporting Moment of 2019 have been revealed, and its up to Kiwis to choose their favourite. 

Ten highlights from the year have today been announced, the only Halberg Awards category voted for by the public.

Two cricketing moments have made the cut. The Black Caps Super Over against England in the heartbreaking Cricket World Cup final loss, and Martin Guptill’s unforgettable throw to run out M.S Dhoni which got New Zealand a spot in the World Cup final.

Para-athlete Lisa threw a record 14.13 metres at the Christchurch athleteic and track nationals.

Lisa Adams breaking the world record to win shot put gold at the World Para Athletics Championships is on the list, alongside the Silver Ferns winning the Netball World Cup.

Israel Adesanya’s UFC Middleweight title win and Scott McLaughlin winning Bathurst are also among the 10 moments for Kiwis to choose from.

The winning moment will be announced at the Halberg Awards ceremony on February 13.
