Fate ties young Kiwi fighter Mose Auimatagi Jr to Joseph Parker again as pair enter final preparations for Cardiff fights

The super-middleweight is set to fight against Morgan Jones in Joseph Parker and Anthony Joshua's undercard.

Around 18,000 kilometres away from home in a city hall in Cardiff, the young career of Kiwi boxer Mose Aumatagi becomes intertwined with that of Joseph Parker - again.

Aumatagi grew up two blocks away from the Parker family in South Auckland and is now coached by parker's former amateur coach Grant Arkle.

He'll take on a local Welshman tomorrow as an undercard for Parker's unification fight.

Arkle says the super-middleweight fighter looks good leading up to the fight against Morgan Jones.

"We had a great workout this morning, he's punching hard - real crisp so it's all good."

Arkle coached Parker for nine years as an amateur and will watch on in Cardiff during the feature fight with pride.

"I thought it would be another few years out before he'd get a fight like this, but this is his opportunity - I feel he can do it."

But Arkle warns there is areas of weakness he’s spotted in his former student.

"I've been worried about his defence. The last three fights has been a bit open. I would like to see him more defensive."

Only time will tell for Parker with the fight less than 24 hours away.

But with Aumatagi gearing up as well, it could be a very special Sunday morning for Kiwi fans.
