October 3, 2019

Claire Hafner has a master's in opera.

An opera singer turned professional boxer will try to wrestle away the women's light heavyweight world title from an adopted Kiwi in Auckland tomorrow night.

Canadian Claire Hafner will sing her own national anthem in the ring before taking on Brazilian-born Geovana Peres.

Hafner has a master's in opera and will hope her boxing matches her singing.

She has forced Peres into some extra homework, with none of her five previous fights filmed.
