Blues rookie flanker Tom Robinson has added his thoughts about the Auckland 1st XV player poaching debate.
Last December, 10 schools who are involved in the Auckland 1A competition were going to boycott matches against St Kents, due to their excessive recruitment of players.
The matter has been resolved between the schools , with St Kentigern agreeing to not play new players for the first six rounds of this year’s competition and the two "most directly affected players" barred from playing in the semi-finals and finals.
Robinson, from Kerikeri, admitted there is only one sort poaching in Northland.
"Just poaching of illegal paua and undersized fish, that’' all mate," said Robinson.
The loose forward said he was close to making the move down to Auckland to play 1st XV while at Kerikeri High School.
"Was tempted towards the end [of high school], but was happy up home."
The 24-year-old has had a standout Super Rugby season so far for the Blues, denied a try last week in his team's 33-26 win over the Highlanders at Eden Park on Friday.
The Blues have another home game this weekend, hosting the Stormers at Eden Park on Saturday.
