After already a successful 2018 for the Black Ferns sevens team, they expect to take their game to another level with the entire squad shifting and establishing themselves to the new home of women's sevens - Tauranga.
The Black Ferns sevens team won Gold Coast Commonwealth Games gold in April and finished the year on a high, clinching the Sevens World Cup title in San Francisco in July.
Black Ferns star Ruby Tui believes the move to keep the squad together in one place to train, is a step in the right direction to improve their game.
"It has been in the pipeline for a few years now, for about four years they wanted us to all live in the same place," said Tui.
"It's actually working out really well and we are getting amazing gains that we would never get training by ourselves, it's amazing."
The 26-year-old said training together will only make their team structures better.
The team is based in Tauranga preparing for their upcoming 2018/2019 world series.
"I mean you can throw the ball 100 times against the post, but when you throw it to somebody and that person is moving, it is just a completely different dynamic.
"If you put that into a tactical perspective, you know techniques what do you do after the tackle? You can do the tackle 100 times but what does the person do after that?"
Black Ferns playmaker Tyla Nathan-Wong said the team training in one place will have huge benefits come the 2018/2019 world series, which starts next week in Glendale, Colorado.
"Just the more time together, on the field we are able to go through more game specific stuff," said Nathan-Wong.
"Whereas when we were separate in three hubs, we didn't get to do that.
"So now the whole group is down here, we are able to get more game specific stuff going and just continue to build on that amazing culture that we have."
