Auckland Tuatara bats come to the party in demolition job against Geelong

December 15, 2018

The Auckland Tuatara's bats returned to form in style, helping their side to a 10-5 victory over Geelong Korea in the Australian Baseball League.

Having mustered just four runs over last week's series with the Sydney Blue Sox, the Tuatara's bats came to the party with 15 hits in last night's win, with home runs coming from Taylor Snyder, Kris Richards and Zach Clark.

Down 1-0, Snyder got the ball rolling for the Tuatara, with a two-run hit out to deep left centre to give the Kiwi side the lead.

In the fifth, Geelong Korea came right back into the match, taking three runs from starting pitcher Jimmy Boyce.

Richards would then step up to the plate, drilling another two runs for the visitors.

Clarke sealed the win at the top of the eighth with a hit into the carpark, as the Tuatara scored their final six runs.

Relief pitcher Brandon Marklund closed out the win, pitching two scoreless innings to bring the clash to an end.

The Tuatara and Geelong Korea will again be in action twice this afternoon, before the final match of the series tomorrow afternoon.
