Noeline Taurua 'brings the best out in you' says returning Silver Ferns legend Casey Kopua

Former Silver Ferns captain Casey Kopua is crediting the appointment of new coach Noeline Taurua for her return to the black dress, having confirmed the end of her retirement earlier this month.

Kopua, along with Laura Langman were surprise inclusions for the 18-strong squad for the upcoming season, with the former captain today revealing that Taurua's at the time imminent appointment as coach to be the reason for her decision.

"It's made me reconsider, obviously, to come back and play for the Silver Ferns," she said.

"She (Taurua) has something about her that brings the best out in you as a player and as a person.

"You just want to play for her, she has that natural instinct about the game.

"I just look forward to working with her again."

Kopua also backed Taurua to fix the Ferns' woes of the past 10 months, dropping to an historic low of being ranked third in the world.

"If there's anyone that can bring instant results, it's her."

"She would have thought about it a lot and make sure she has a plan, but I know that she'll be realistic at the same time."
