Midcourter Laura Langman will continue as captain of the Silver Ferns, re-elected by the playing squad heading into this year's World Cup in July.
Having returned to the Silver Ferns after her stint with the Sunshine Coast Lightning in Australia's Super Netball League, 32-year old Langman was chosen as captain by the wider New Zealand side, elected in a process implemented by coach Noeline Taurua.
With former captain Katrina Rore dropped, another fellow skipper in Casey Kopua will take on the role of vice-captain.
"This process also identified other leaders within our mix that we need to take advantage of," coach Taurua said.
"Laura was a player that other team members certainly looked up to last year in terms of her passion and work ethic. She took the captaincy role in her stride and led from the front with her expectations and standards set on court."
The Silver Ferns' next assignment, the Quad Series against Australia, England and South Africa, begins tomorrow morning.
