Jenny-May Clarkson talks careers, motherhood and World Cup glory with Silver Ferns 'fossils'

October 31, 2019

Silver Ferns veterans Laura Langman and Casey Kopua traded in the black dress for some glamourous outfits at last night's NZ Netball Awards - apparantly without giving old mate and Breakfast presenter Jenny-May Clarkson the memo.

Clarkson, in track pants and a hoodie, spoke to the duo before last night's awards about the historic year they've had which saw the Silver Ferns crowned as world champions after beating Australia in Liverpool earlier this year.

"It's still unreal," Kopua said.

"Even when people talk about it now, it's still, 'Wow, did we really do that?' and watching playback today just brought it all back up again."

Langman said she was just happy to do it for her other "fossils" - Kopua and Maria Folau, along with coach Noeline Taurua.

"I just really wanted to do it for them because they've given so much and we've been so close so many times."

The trio also caught up Kopua's surprising pregnancy news, support from outside the Silver Ferns and Clarkson's pride having watched the pair since they were both 14.

"Thanks, Mum," a ckeeky Kopua said.
