'We're a small country, but we've got some great drivers' – Fabian Coulthard on strength of Kiwi motorsport

Kiwi driver Fabian Coulthard has spoken about the success of his compatriots across the ditch this season, with three of the top four Supercars spots currently occupied by New Zealanders.

Coulthard sits third in the drivers championship this season, while Shell teammate Scott McLaughlin currently holds the outright lead. Red Bull's Kiwi driver Shane van Gisbergen sits in fourth.

Speaking to 1 NEWS, Coulthard spoke about New Zealand's dominance this season in an event that normally sees Australians lead the way.

"It really shows what New Zealand has to offer," Coulthard says.

"We're only a small country, but we've got some great drivers."

"We've finally got great cars and we can show what we can do."

NASCAR driver Martin Truex Jr casually emerges from flaming wreck after nasty collision

NASCAR drivers Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr are both out of the race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway after a massive collision after a restart in lap 110 today.

After the green flag had been waved Truex Jr looked to have bobbled and make contact to the back of Busch's car.

They both crashed on the first turn with Truex Jr's car catching fire.

Both drivers emerged from the wreck unscathed.

The race was won by Kasey Kahne.
