Watch: Crutches-wearing Scott Dixon eager to race in few days' time after horror 350km/h crash

Scott Dixon could be in doubt for this weekend's IndyCar action despite his positive attitude to racing again after it was revealed that he'd injured his foot in yesterday's terrifying crash in the Indianapolis 500.

Dixon walked from the accident seemingly unharmed and didn't mention any injuries immediately following the crash yesterday.

However, while attending the Indy 500 banquet today he was wearing crutches on the red carpet and admitted team doctors aren't yet sure if he's suffered a sprain, bruising or a small fracture to his foot.

He says they'll know more once the swelling goes down.

"At this point I'm just trying to keep some weight off it, hopefully it'll be all fine."

Heading into this weekend's race in Detroit, Dixon sits 4th overall in the IndyCar standings.
