Kiwi driver Scott McLaughlin has revealed how he celebrated winning his maiden Supercars title in Newcastle yesterday, filling the trophy to the brim with chicken nuggets.
McLaughlin, 25, held off the season-long challenge of compatriot Shane van Gisbergen, taking the title for the first time last night.
Speaking to 1 NEWS this morning, McLaughlin revealed his unique celebrations.
"A lot of drinking out of the cup, we managed to fit 40 chicken nuggets in the cup too, which I think wasn't done before." he began.
"(Which) I'm pretty proud of.
McLaughlin then explained his reasoning behind using the prestigious trophy as a glorified serving dish.
"It's just my stupidity.
"I was like, 'it's my trophy now, let's do it.'"
