NRL scouts will once again descend on Auckland this weekend hoping to find the rugby league superstars of tomorrow.
Facilitated by the Warriors, the Pacific Youth Cup is helping to create pathways for young talent.
Warriors development coordinator Jordan Friend says the tournament is great, giving young players an opportunity to showcase their skills.
"The player pathways are massive, it's always a well-publicised thing in a tournament such as this," said Friend.
"It provides opportunities for players that might not of have had it previously."
Seth Tauamiti played in last year's tournament for the Maori U18 and is now living in the Warriors house.
Tuki Simpkins with the Maori U16 has been signed by the Cowboys.
Another former Maori age grade rep Hayze Perham has just gone to his first NRL camp with the Warriors.
While scouts offer opportunities Friend says the players have to put in the work.
"I think that's the key message, is it's a long term-goal, first and foremost you've got to enjoy your football, work hard, things don't come easy."
Current NRL players have already given their endorsement for the tournament, with it expected to be even bigger next year.
