'We've got a lot to improve on' – Kiwis blunt admission after Tonga defeat

November 13, 2017

Kenny Bromwich says his side can't afford another World Cup slip up.

Kiwis prop Kenny Bromwich didn't mince his words when asked what improvements were needed for his side, having tasted defeat at the hands of Tonga 28-22 in Hamilton.

New Zealand head into their Rugby League World Cup quarter-final with Fiji this Saturday in an unfamiliar position, coming off their first ever loss to Tonga they potentially face elimination from their own tournament.

Bromwich said his side have learnt from their defeat in Hamilton.

"You can take a lot of lessons from that defeat," Bromwich said.

"We've got a lot to improve on."

"A lot of discipline areas, holding on to the ball obviously and just a lot of the little areas that we like to focus on - we can improve on those."
