Watch: Kiwis taking Fiji seriously ahead of Rugby League World Cup quarter-final

November 13, 2017

New Zealand will face the high flying Fijians in Wellington this week.

After the 28-22 Rugby League World Cup defeat to Tonga last weekend, the Kiwis won't be taking their next opponents Fiji lightly in their quarter final in Wellington.

Speaking to media today, forward Joseph Tapine spoke about a dangerous Fiji side, capable of causing another upset on the wounded Kiwis.

"Fiji are a tough side," he said.

"We've got to adjust a little bit. We'll definitely do our video on them and prepare as best as we can."

Tapine also spoke about the role of Fiji's supporters, expected to turn out in large numbers for the Wellington quarter-final.

"All the Polynesian countries come out for their teams."

"We won't expect anything less and are looking forward to the challenge."
