Watch: Kiwis skipper chokes up after devastating loss to Fiji and early RLWC exit

Kiwis skipper Adam Blair was visibly upset as he tried to hold back tears after his side were beaten 4-2 against Fiji and were kicked out of the Rugby League World Cup tournament in Wellington last night.

Blair said despite the loss he was still proud of his team.

"I'm emotional because I'm proud," said Blair.

"The smart stuff we missed tonight, the toughness you seen out there all game.

"There had to be a loser tonight, unfortunately it's us and we are really disappointed about it."

Fiji advance to the semi-finals where they will play the Kangaroos next Friday at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.
