Watch: Ken Maumalo soars over opposite to score stellar try as Kiwis decimate England in 34-point whitewash

November 12, 2018

The Kiwis have finished their Test series against England on a high after earning a 34-0 win in Leeds this morning.

Led by an impressive performance from playmaker Kodi Nikorima at No.7, the Kiwis took control of the match early when Ken Maumalo busted his way through the line to score.

The Kiwis then heaped on the pressure before halftime with two tries courtesy of Isaac Liu and Nikorima to head to the sheds up 18-0.

Things didn't get much better for England in the second half either, as they failed to take advantage when Jared Waerea-Hargreaves was sinbinned for a late head shot on his line.

Instead, the Kiwis piled on another 16 points as Maumalo added his second of the night after soaring over opposite Jermaine McGillvary to take a pinpoint crosskick from Nikorima.

McGillvary's night then went from bad to worse when he was sinbinned for deliberately slowing the game down after a Kiwis line break.

While off, the Kiwis showed England how it was done as Jesse Bromwich and Joseph Tapine went over the line to score.

Nikorima said after the game finishing the series on a high, after losing the first two Tests the previous two weeks, was important.

"We really wanted to get the win tonight, not only for ourselves but our people back home," he said.

"We completed really well, and you can play off the back off that. This win instills some pride back in the jersey. If we can keep building, New Zealand rugby league is looking up."
