Warriors' rookie halves duo get Blake Green's seal of approval' - They've both put their hand up'

March 10, 2019

Chanel Harris-Tavita and Hayze Perham have earned Roger Tuivasa-Sheck's approval.

Warriors five-eighth Blake Green is putting his faith in the young halves duo of Adam Keighran and Chanel Harris-Tavita, as the new NRL season approaches.

With halfback and all-time leading Warriors points scorer Shaun Johnson having left the club after a messy saga, the club are backing youth to fill the coveted number seven jersey, with both Keighran and Harris-Tavita battling it out over pre-season to make the spot their own.

As the senior half within the Warriors' ranks, Green has played a huge role in pre-season in mentoring the pair, telling Stuff about what they'll each bring to the table in 2019.

"They've improved a stack since November. Both were very quiet when they first came into the system, but we've put in a heap of work," he said.

"They're different people. Channel's probably got a little bit more flair than Adam. But Adam is really good at doing the simple things well. He doesn't overplay his hand but he's really effective when he runs the ball, he's strong into contact.

"As I said with Channel, he's got a bit of X-factor. But they've both put their hand up and did a really good job in the trials."

Neither Keighran or Harris-Tavita have made their first grade debut, however one will be given the nod when the Warriors begin their 2019 season against the Bulldogs at Mt Smart Stadium on March 16.
