Warriors 'really proud' of women's side ahead of professional debut

September 4, 2018

The Warriors women play their first competitive match against the Roosters this weekend.

When the Warriors women's side make their professional debut in their first clash of the Women's NRL against the Roosters on Saturday night, no one will be cheering louder than their male counterparts.

With the Warriors' women taking part in the first match of the new competition, the men's side will be in attendance, with the match occurring ahead of the Warriors' clash with the Penrith Panthers in the NRL finals.

Speaking to media today, five-eighth Blake Green spoke of his excitement at seeing his female clubmates take the field.

"It's just so exciting, we're really proud as a club to have a women's team in the competition," he began.

"We've seen them doing some hard training actually, last week they were up and down the stairs and doing bits and pieces.

"What a great moment for the club to have both teams playing on the same day."
