Warriors in do-or-die scenario heading into Roosters clash

August 14, 2019

The Kiwi side need to win all of their remaining games to make the NRL's top eight.

Needing to win all of their remaining games for a chance at sealing a spot in the NRL's top eight, the Warriors are prepared to leave nothing in the tank, starting with this weekend's encounter with the Roosters at the SCG.

With four rounds remaining in the NRL season, the Warriors currently sit 11th on the table, two points off the top eight.

However, with their final four opponents - the Roosters, Sharks, Rabbitohs and Raiders - either vying or having already qualified for the NRL finals, the Warriors face an uphill struggle for finals football.

Speaking at the side's training in Auckland today, though, captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck outlined the Warriors' mentality heading into the end of the season.

"It's all about playing good footy in general," he said.

"We're all out here trying to do our thing. Unfortunately, we haven't been playing too well throughout the year, so you just turn up each week trying to be better, and that's what I want to do each week going in."
