The Warriors might not have to look far to replace halfback Shaun Johnson, with captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck giving the nod of approval to young duo Chanel Harris-Tavita and Hayze Perham.
With Johnson swapping the Auckland club for the Cronulla Sharks last week, the Warriors are now desperately thin in terms of options in the number seven jersey.
While the club have kept coy on the prospect of bringing in a high-profile replacement halfback, captain Tuivasa-Sheck has today thrown his support behind the idea of promoting from within, with the Junior Warriors duo seemingly at the front of the queue.
"We've done it before," he said.
"Mason (Lino) came on and did a good job when he was here. Unfortunately he's not here as well.
"Just the way the team's been going, someone's stepped up and done the job. That's what these sessions are for.
"Having Chanel and Hayze running around in the halves there, and Greeny (Blake Green) and even young Paul Turner. Someone will always step up and do the job."
Tuivasa-Sheck went on to compare the young duo to Johnson, confident that either of the pair can ascend to first-grade football.
"To me, they remind me of young SJ.
"They're fast, they bring a lot of energy, they've got a bit of footwork on both of them, and good hands.
"It's about just giving them experience in the NRL system and trying to make sure that they learn about building pressure, playing percentage, and all that kind of stuff."
