Despite currently sitting top of the table after week one of the 2019 season, the Warriors don't appear to be pulling up any trees across the Tasman, ranked 12th on the NRL website's power rankings.

Running in an impressive seven tries to one in the crushing 40-6 win over the Bulldogs, the Warriors sit top of the NRL ladder on points differential, 13 ahead of the Canberra Raiders.

However, writing for the NRL's website, former St George Illawarra five-eighth Jamie Soward was unchanged in his pre-season predictions, keeping the Warrriors in 12th place in his rankings.

"An emotional day for the Warriors and they played well, but they stay the same in the Power Rankings because they played the Bulldogs," Soward says.

"This team is probably a bit better than where I had them picked, but they've got a much tougher challenge this week at Campbelltown against the Wests Tigers."

Meanwhile, the South Sydney Rabbitohs hold Soward's top spot, having defeated the 2018 champions the Sydney Roosters in their opening game. Unsurprisingly, the Bulldogs hold last place on both the NRL ladder, and Soward's rankings.
