The Warriors have spoken of their pride at the NRL Hall of Fame status awarded to club legends Ruben Wiki and Stacey Jones, with the pair to be inducted in Sydney tonight.
With lengthy careers in the NRL and at Test level, Wiki and Jones will tonight become the second and third Kiwi players to be elevated into the Hall of Fame, and the current Warriors group was thrilled today for their predecessors.
"[I was] real proud hearing about Ruben and Stacey getting inducted," captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck said.
"It's really important for us young boys to look at that achievement, and see how proud we are, something that we can strive to be.
"They inspire us every day so that we can turn up, and put in the work, and get rewarded like that one day."
With Jones and Wiki now both part of the Warriors' support staff, Tuivasa-Sheck was asked about the prospect of an NRL Hall of Fame member running the drinks on gameday.
"Nah not so much, that's why these guys are real good. They're just down to earth guys, love doing what they do, Hall of Fame or what, they just do their role as best as they can.
"Stacey and Rubes are just real good dudes."
Meanwhile, coach Stephen Kearney, a former teammate of Wiki and Jones, couldn't hide his delight.
"It's bloody awesome actually," he said.
"To be recognised in that way, their contribution to the game, particularly to the game here - with Rubes being our highest [most capped] Test player, and Stacey's contribution to the Warriors and the Kiwis.
"[We're] obviously really pleased for them, and that recognition for themselves personally, but also for our footy club."
