Roger Tuivasa-Sheck named best international player with Golden Boot award

Michael Maguire said he spoke for a lengthy amount of time with the Warriors captain before yesterday's selections.

Kiwis star and Warriors captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has become the fifth New Zealander to win the Golden Boot award, being named the best international rugby league player.

The fullback beat Kiwi teammate Jared Waeraa-Hargreaves and Tonga prop Siosiua Taukeiaho to claim the award.

He joins Hugh McGahan (1987), Stacey Jones (2002), Benji Marshall (2010) and Shaun Johnson (2014) as winners from New Zealand.

Australian Jessica Sergis was named the women’s Golden Boot winner.
