Warriors captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has emerged as the favourite to claim the coveted Dally M medal, awarded to the NRL's best player.

With the medal to be awarded on September 26, bookmakers on both sides of the Tasman have Tuivasa-Sheck as the favourite for his first Dally M, having taken out the winger of the year award in 2013, and fullback of the year in 2015.

The Warriors captain is paying $2.50 with the TAB, and $2.60 with Sportsbet in Australia.

Tuivasa-Sheck's competition lies with Rabbitohs hooker Damien Cook, Knights fullback Kalyn Ponga, and Sharks star Valentine Holmes.

Cook seems to offer the closest competition, paying $3 and $4.25 respectively, with Ponga second ($3.50 and $4.75), and Holmes ($6 and $5.50) in third.

No Warriors player has ever won the Dally M medal.

Tuivasa-Sheck was named Warriors' player of the year for the past two seasons.
