'Performances on the field' will stop Warriors' ridicule, says Sir Graham Lowe

November 26, 2019

The Kiwi league great hit out at the club's pre-season web series.

In the wake of Warriors CEO Cameron George's pre-season speech captured on camera, league great Sir Graham Lowe says that only on-field results will see a change in attitude to the Kiwi NRL club.

After George's impassioned speech to the Warriors' playing squad was captured on camera as part of their pre-season 'All In' documentary series, Sir Graham Lowe took issue with the club's apparent siege mentality heading into their 2020 NRL season.

"People are going to take the mickey out of them, there's no doubt about that," Sir Graham told 1 NEWS.

"There's only one way you can answer that, and that's with performances on the field.

"I can't see too many of them [players] responding to a Churchillian-type speech that Cameron was trying to do.

"[But] that's what pressure brings out, it brings out different things."

Having coached the likes of the Kiwis, Queensland at State of Origin level, as well as the North Queensland Cowboys in the NRL, Sir Graham also offered his advice on the approach the Warriors should be taking.

"There can be no compromise allowed, the only way they can do it is performance on the field.

"Nothing can be compromised, it's got to be all out to perform on the field.

"That's what the new owners will be expecting, looking for, and will react if they don't get it."
