New Zealand sporting stars Shaun Johnson and Kayla Cullen are set to be married after the Silver Fern said yes to the Warriors star's proposal.

The pair announced the engagement last night with Johnson posting a picture to his Instagram captioned, "The only yes I need".

Johnson's Instagram also shows the couple appearing to enjoy the day amongst friends and family.

However it also showed Johnson was still feeling the effects of Saturday night's convincing win over the Tigers, with the playmaking half in a moonboot after injuring his ankle.

His fiance is also battling injury, having been forced to miss the Commonwealth Games due to an ongoing knee problem.

Johnson and Cullen began their relationship earlin in 2016.
