KICKOFF: And we are underway with the Warriors kicking off to the Raiders.
The Warriors will welcome back influential second rower Ryan Hoffman to their starting side to face the Canberra Raiders at Mt Smart Stadium today, while Issac Luke is dropped to the interchange bench and Kieran Foran has been scratched from the team with a shoulder injury.
Hoffman has been out of action since late June, injuring his foot in the 21-14 victory over the Bulldogs. Most notably however, the Warriors have not won a single game in his absence, losing their last five consecutive matches.
His return sees youngster Isaiah Papali'i drop to the bench, while Bunty Afoa switches to the right edge to accommodate Hoffman's return.
Luke's axing sees Nathaniel Roache given a rare start at hooker, having scored his first NRL try in last week's 26-10 loss to the Knights.
Roache will start just his third NRL match, having featured 20 times in his short Warriors career.
Warriors playmaker Foran has been ruled out of today's clash with Canberra due to a shoulder complaint.
With halfback Shaun Johnson currently crocked, it has fallen upon the Canterbury-bound Foran to take up the reins as playmaker-in-chief.
But the 27-year-old has struggled to do so in recent weeks, with the Warriors losing five on the trot and falling out of finals contention.
His shoulder issue has forced coach Stephen Kearney to bank on youth for this afternoon's match against the Raiders, with Ata Hingano and Mason Lino to line up in the halves and Roache selected at hooker.
The trio, between them, have played just 36 NRL matches - making them the least experienced hooker-halves combination in the club's history.
