'Keen to have a better year' - Warriors interchange Jazz Tevaga aiming for big 2019 NRL season

March 12, 2019

The Warriors utility forward was named the Dally M interchange of the year last year.

Warriors utility forward Jazz Tevaga is looking to cement a spot in the starting team, aiming to lock up the number 13 jersey for the upcoming 2019 NRL season.

The 23-year-old was awarded the interchange player of the year at the 2018 Dally M awards last September.

Tevaga told 1 NEWS this morning that he looks to have an even bigger year this year at the New Zealand NRL club.

"I'm sort of backing myself again this year, I'm pretty keen to have a better year than last year," said Tevaga.

"I'm happy at the Warriors, it's home to me, I love all the boys and I love all the coaching staff.

"So staying here is my main priority, but if things don't work out I'll be keen to move over [to Australia].

"I'd like to focus on this year first."

Tevaga re-signed with the Warriors last September on a one-year extension deal for 2019.

The Warriors begin their NRL 2019 campaign this Saturday against the Bulldogs at Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland.
