'It's do or die for us' – Kiwis with backs to the wall ahead of Fiji quarter-final

November 13, 2017

New Zealand will meet Fiji in the Rugby League World Cup in Wellington on Saturday.

Having fallen 28-22 to Tonga in Hamilton on Saturday, the Kiwis need to bounce back with a win in their quarter final against Fiji in Wellington, forward Kenny Bromwich said.

The Kiwis slumped to their first ever loss to Tonga last weekend, with Fiji hoping for a similar victory against their hosts this Saturday.

Bromwich said that it's now time for the Kiwis to perform to their ability, or risk tournament elimination.

"It's do or die for us," Bromwich told media.

"The challenge that we're facing now is that we have to stick together, we have to play well, play with a lot of pride there."

"What we're trying to do here is very important to us, so I think it'll show on the weekend."
