Kiwis and Cronulla five-eighth Shaun Johnson reflected on an emotional return to Mt Smart Stadium, starring in New Zealand's 34-14 victory over Mate Ma'a Tonga.
Having left the Warriors in a messy split at the end of 2018, Johnson returned to Mt Smart for the first time as a Shark, and although he was able to sit in the home dressing room once again, the Kiwis' halfback was still unsure about how to handle his return.
"It's a bit weird if I'm being honest, a part of me still feels like this is home," Johnson told media.
"I still watch the Warriors every week, I still love this place.
"But coming back in a Kiwis capacity, knowing that I'm like a lot of the other boys that live in Sydney, coming back into camp, is how I approached it.
"Whether it's Mt Smart, anywhere in the world, being in this environment means the world to all of us - and hopefully people saw that tonight."
Johnson will have to wait a while to return to Mt Smart to play against the Warriors however, with the Sharks' clash against his old side being played at Wellington's Westpac Stadium.
