Mate Ma'a Tonga’s star front rower Sio Siua Taukeiaho said there will be no love lost when he lines up across his Roosters teammate Jared Waerea-Hargreaves this Saturday at Mount Smart Stadium.
The duo are a perfect match for the Sydney Roosters, but will be rivals when the Kiwis face off against the Tongan rugby league side this weekend.
Taukeiaho told media today that Waerea-Hargreaves plays a big leadership role within the Roosters set-up.
"Jared is the leader of our forward pack at the Roosters, it's going to be really exciting going up against him," said Taukeiaho.
The 27-year-old revealed that Waerea-Hargreaves doesn't like to hold back during training.
"I know at training he goes hard and he likes to cheap shot everyone, but that's Jared. As a front row partner I can't wait to go up against him.
"He is a good mate of mine but when you represent your country and he is on the other side, there’s no friends on the field so we will see just how we will go."
The last time the two Sydney Roosters props played against one another was at the 2017 Rugby League World Cup in Hamilton, where Tonga came from behind to defeat the Kiwis 28-22.
