Wild lightning strikes force early end to PGA Tour's RBC Heritage event

June 20, 2020

Wild weather forced the suspension of the second round of the PGA Tour's RBC Heritage event, as lightning struck Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

Weather forecasts for the day predicted a 30 per cent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning, and a light east wind for the afternoon.

However, crazy scenes meant that the second round had to be temporarily suspended, with fork lightning distracting Tony Finau's tee shot on the 18th hole.

After a delay, the second round was cleared to resume at 7.45pm local time.
