Lydia Ko off to solid start in first major of 2019

April 5, 2019

Lydia Ko has made a solid start to her quest for a third LPGA major this morning, finishing two-under par in her opening round at the ANA Inspiration in California.

Ko made three birdies in the round with a bogey on the par-four seventh her only blemish.

The Kiwi world No.14 birdied the second on the front nine before adding the other two on the 10th and 18th.

Ko's round puts her alongside world No.10 Jessica Korda (United States) and South Korea's Amy Yang, who sits one place ahead of Ko at 13th in the world.

Ko is chasing her second ANA Inspiration title after previously winning it in 2016.

The 21-year-old currently sits tied for fourth but with other competitors still on the course, her placing could change.
