Kiwi golfer Ryan Fox is hoping that last night's victory at the World Super 6 in Perth can be the start of something special, having returned to New Zealand this afternoon.
Fox, 32, last night earned his first win on the European Tour, defeating Adrian Otaegui in the match play decider to take the Perth title.
Arriving home ahead of the New Zealand Open, Fox spoke to 1 NEWS about his relief at breaking his duck and lifting a title.
"It's pretty special," Fox began.
"I had a bit of a think about it on the plane, it's a dream come true to be able to do it.
"Hopefully, it's the first of many - but if not, just to have one on the resume is pretty cool."
Fox also says that he's hoping to add a few more wins to his record, finally nabbing the elusive first.
"You see it with a few guys, the first one's always the hardest.
"Once you get that, it's a little easier to win the second time.
"There's 156 guys every week that I've got to beat [and] a lot of good players out there. The strength is only getting deeper out there, and harder and harder to win.
"I hope it's the first of many, but just having one is pretty cool.
Fox is back home for the New Zealand Open, kicking off next weekend at Arrowtown's Milbrook Resort.
