Danny Lee off to sublime start in latest PGA event, sits one shot off lead

Kiwi golfer Danny Lee is off to another strong start on the PGA Tour, sitting one shot off the lead at the Northern Trust thanks to an impressive opening round in New Jersey this morning.

Lee nailed three birdies and an eagle in his four-under 67 at Ridgewood Championship Course to narrowly trail American leaders, Kevin Tway, Jamie Lovemark, and Vaughn Taylor.

The 28-year-old started on the eighth hole and briefly shared the lead after his eagle on the par-five third but slipped to fourth after his only bogey of the round on the fifth hole.

Lee is tied for fourth with 11 others at four-under, including World No.1 Dustin Johnson.

The same can't be said for Tiger Woods, who despite a second-place finish at the Open Championship last week, sits in a share for 56th after an even round of 71.
