'Come on Danny!' Nervous Kiwi golfer Danny Lee tries to move alligator that was blocking his shot

April 26, 2018

Danny Lee was forced to get up close with an alligator on the PGA Tour, with the Kiwi golfer admitting jokingly that the encounter caused him to almost "pee (his) pants".

Lee was in New Orleans practising for the Zurich Classic team event when he hit a shot close to a gator that that was positioned near the water on one hole.

He posted a video to Instagram of himself hesitantly prodding the alligator’s tail with a rake in an attempt to move it away.

In the post, the 27-year-old Kiwi gave a shout out to American golfer Cody Gribble, who moved an alligator on with some ease during a tour event last year.

"Well @codygribble I don't know how you did it," wrote Lee. "I have so much respect for you right now."

Lee will tee off with his partner, Sweden's David Lingmerth, tomorrow morning.
