The Wellington Phoenix could face a fight to keep star striker Roy Krishna in the capital, with numerous A-League clubs reportedly interested in acquiring the Fijian international's singature.

Krishna, 31, is the A-League's joint second-top goal scorer for the current season with 11 strikes to his name, bettered only by Sydney FC's Adam le Fondre, yet is off contract at the end of the 2018/19 campaign.

Talking to Stuff, Krishna's manager Rex Dawkins confirmed that his client has received offers from other A-League clubs, with the likes of Newcastle Jets, Central Coast Mariners and Sydney FC reportedly interested.

"We have fielded interest from several A-League clubs but nothing further afield," Dawkins told Stuff.

"We're not going to be in any rush to make a decision because this is probably the last major contract that Roy will get while he's at the peak of his form so we want to make sure it's the right decision in terms of where he goes and what have you."

Krishna's situation might not be the only one of its kind at the Phoenix towards the end of the current season, with 18 players' deals set to expire.
