TVNZ FC: The growing trend for 'unretiring' Football Ferns, Salah's dives, and Chelsea's Premier League wobbles

January 23, 2019

Chris Chang is joined by Football Fern Katie Duncan and the panel to discuss coaches calling out players in public, dives, and who’ll take the fourth Champions League spot in England.

In this episode of TVNZ FC Chris Chang and the panel are joined by Kiwi Katie Duncan who recently announced her return to international football having previously retired from the Football Ferns.

Duncan speaks about the "shambles" that was last year when controversial Austrian manager Andreas Heraf was running the side.

She admits she didn't miss the black jersey last year but watching what happened to the team "hurt from afar".

She also talks about the "good, calming presence" of Heraf's replacement, Tom Sermanni, and why both he and the World Cup were draws for coming out of international retirement and being available for the Football Ferns again.

The panel also spend time discussing the latest Premier League action, including Liverpool star Mo Salah's dives and the ever-growing wobbles for Chelsea in the race for fourth-place.

TVNZ FC is also available as a podcast on iTunes, Soundcloud and Spotify.
