All Whites striker Chris Wood says that his international career has the full backing of his club side Burnley, after he completed a record transfer to the English club earlier this month.
Wood became Burnley's most expensive ever player, scoring the equaliser in a 1-1 draw against Tottenham at Wembley Stadium on debut, before being rushed onto a plane to make it home for New Zealand's World Cup qualifier with the Solomon Islands tomorrow.
In the past, English sides have expressed concerns with players flying vast distances to meet international commitments, although Wood assures that Burnley are different.
"I have the support of Burnley Football Club to be here," Wood said.
"They know how important New Zealand football is to me, and they're always supporting of that."
