Kiwi Jacinta Coleman has become the first woman to win the goal of the month award at the Premier League club, Fulham.
Coleman scored a long-range stunner in the 6-1 win over Aylesford Ladies, smashing the ball into the top corner from 30 yards out.
The effort received 54 per cent of the votes from fans, beating out a stunning volley from André Schürrle, a goal which won the official Premier League Goal of the Month award but only had 29.1 per cent of the vote.
"I had literally no idea I was going to be involved in it, I just feel lucky," she said.
Coleman was delighted to make some history for the women's team while revealing she was thinking of shooting as soon as the ball was played to her.
"Yeah of course, especially when I’m coming up against the men playing the Premier League and obviously André Schürrle’s goal was Premier League goal of the month so that’s quite an achievement for me, words can’t really describe it.
“I love shooting from outside the box so as soon as the ball was played across I had nothing but shooting in mind.”
