All Whites victorious on penalties to lift Oceania Nations Cup

The All Whites have reclaimed the Oceania Nations cup in dramatic fashion, beating hosts Papua New Guinea via a penalty shootout to secure a place in next year's Confederations Cup in Russia.

After the regulation 90 minutes and subsequent extra time both teams finished with the scores locked at 0-0 and the tournament was to be decided from the penalty spot.

All Whites goalkeeper Stefan Marinovic was the hero of the night, making a number of saves throughout the game, before saving a penalty taken by Papua New Guinea's Koriak Upaiga and diverting another Raymond Gunemba attempt onto the post.

In contrast, Rory Fallon, Michael McGlinchey, Moses Dyer all scored from the spot for the All Whites, before Marco Rojas stepped up and converted his penalty to lead New Zealand to their 5th Oceania Nations Cup, and first since 2008.
