Wellington Blaze welcome back White Ferns star Sophie Devine for Super Smash final

January 19, 2019

The all-rounder returns from Australia's Big Bash to take on Canterbury tomorrow.

The Wellington Blaze have been bolstered by the return of White Ferns all-rounder Sophie Devine, having returned from Australia's Women's Big Bash for tomorrow's Super Smash final against the Canterbury Magicians.

After Devine's Adelaide Strikers' failure to reach the WBBL final, Devine has rushed to her provincial side's aid, returning to training today ahead of tomorrow's final at Auckland's Eden Park outer oval.

Speaking to 1 NEWS today, Devine's White Ferns and Blaze teammate Amelia Kerr couldn't hide her delight at having the all-rounder back among Wellington's ranks.

"It's awesome to have her back," Kerr began.

"She's just got so much knowledge [from] playing overseas.

"It's awesome to have her back for all the cricket discussions he have, but also with the bat and ball and in the field as well.

"It's nice to have her back."

The Blaze face the Canterbury Magicians tomorrow afternoon for the New Zealand women's domestic T20 title.
