Tim Seifert leads NZ to victory, Black Caps crush India by 80-runs after stunning performance with both bat and ball

Daryl Mitchell gets a wicket on his debut! He's bowled Chahal and New Zealand have crushed India by 80-runs in the first T20 match.

11:13pm: IND 136/9 - 19 Chahal 0, Dhoni 39

OUT! Tim Southee bowls to MS Dhoni and he smashes straight Lockie Ferguson on the boundary, who makes a safe catch.

11:10pm: IND 132/8 - 18 overs - Kumar 1, Dhoni 34

OUT! Ferguson bowls to Kumar and he edges it to the keeper! This was no easy catch, Tim Seifert really had to stretch to get to this one, he makes it look so effortless making a brilliant one-handed catch with his right hand.

11:04pm: IND 129/7 - 17 overs - K Pandya 20, Dhoni 33

WICKET! Tim Southee bowls a bouncer to Krunal Pandya and it hits his glove. Tim Seifert races out to leg gully and makes a stunning diving catch. He immediately looks at the umpire and he raises his finger.

A good over from Lockie Ferguson as India only manage to score five runs from his over with the ball. India need 102 runs with four overs and four wickets remaining.

SIX! Mitch Santner bowls MS Dhoni and he uses his feet and smashes the length ball towards long-on. And he's just got enough of it to clear the fielder out there.

OUT! Ish Sodhi bowls to HH Pandya and he hits it straight to Daryl Mitchell. The delivery is fuller and wider outside off by Sodhi and Pandya looks to clear deep extra cover Mitchell makes it easily near the boundary line and NZ have their sixth wicket of the match.

WICKET! Ish Sodhi bowls to Karthik and he hits it to deep wicket with Tim Southee making a great diving catch to dismiss the Indian batsman. New Zealand are on fire at the moment!

OUT! Santner bowls to Pant and the Indian batsman is caught in no man's land. Santner's yorker goes onto hit the stumps.

OUT! Tim Southee bowls to Sharma and he hits it just over midwicket. Lockie Ferguson makes a sublime diving catch out in front of him to dismiss the Indian skipper.

A brilliant innings for New Zealand with Mitchell Santner finishing the innings with a four. India need 220 runs to win this match. Tim Seifert was sensational for the home team, top scoring with 84-runs from 43 balls.

FOUR! FOUR! SIX! Scott Kuggeleijn punishes Kumar, scoring three boundaries in Kumar's over. New Zealand surpass the highest score scored at the Westpac Stadium grounds.

BACK-TO-BACK SIXES! HH Pandya bowls to Kane Williamson and the New Zealand skipper unleashes! Williamson times it to perfection, he smashes back-to-back sixes over square leg.

Projected total for New Zealand at the moment is 206. Daryl Mitchell is making his debut tonight for the Black Caps, he is the son of former All Blacks coach John Mitchell.

WICKET! Ahmed bowls to Tim Seifert and it's a beautiful delivery! It's yorker which clips the inside of Seifert's bat and goes onto hit the wickets. A much needed wicket for the visitors, Daryl Mitchell joins Williamson at the crease.

SIX! Ahmed bowls to Kane Williamson and the New Zealand skipper decides to join the party! Williamson hits it over deep midwicket for a maximum.

Tim Seifert is playing like a man possessed! He hits a four and six in Chahal's over with the ball, with New Zealand scoring 13-runs in that over.

BACK-TO-BACK SIXES! Tim Seifert is making a statement! He should've been gone in the final ball of the over but India make a mistake in the outfield. Seifert hit the ball sky high but the Indian fielder couldn't hold onto it.

Halfway through the innings and Tim Seifert continues his assault on the Indian bowlers. A handy total so far for New Zealand as Seifert sits on 58-runs not out.

K Pandya blows up at officials after he claims Seifert intentionally got in the way as he tried to make a catch after bowling to Kane Williamson. Replays show Seifert was well in his rights turning his back and making his way back to the crease.

OUT! K Pandya bowls to Colin Munro and he tries to go big, but he is caught on the ropes. Before his wicket Seifert brought up his maiden fifty for New Zealand.

New Zealand's openers Colin Munro and Tim Seifert continue to cause headaches for the Indian bowlers.

FOUR! Seifert has his way against H Pandya, Seifert picks the ball up and hits it over short fine leg for another boundary. His second boundary of the over he smacks it through cover-point for four.

SIX! FOUR! Kumar bowls to Siefert and he charges down the wicket and smashes over midwicket for the first maximum of the match! The second to last ball by Kumar is dispatched for four with Seirfert hitting the ball to right of the umpire for a boundary.

FOUR! FOUR! Ahmed bowls to Colin Munro and he begins swinging for the fences. The Kiwi batsman hits it over extra cover for his first boundary of the match. And the next he dispatches over mid off for another four!

A good over for India's Kumar with the New Zealand openers only managing four runs from the first over of the match.

India have won the toss and have elected to bowl first.

The Black Caps will be looking to redeem themselves as they switch formats to the shortest format of the game.

India have been dominant so far in their tour of New Zealand, beating the home team 4-1 in the one day internationals series.
