Ross Taylor returns for Black Caps' T20 series with India

Ross Taylor celebrates his century.

Ross Taylor has been added to the Black Caps' Twenty20 squad ahead of their three match series with India.

Taylor, 33, hasn't played a T20 for New Zealand since last year's World Cup in India as coach Mike Hesson looked to build for the future, selecting the likes of Tom Bruce ahead of the 73-cap batsman.

However, with leg-spinner Todd Astle picking up an injury prior to the recently concluded ODI series, Taylor finds himself back in the squad for the series.

The Black Caps' three-match T20 series against India begins in Delhi on Wednesday.

Black Caps T20 squad: Kane Williamson (c), Trent Boult, Tom Bruce, Colin de Grandhomme, Martin Guptill, Matt Henry, Tom Latham, Henry Nicholls, Adam Milne, Colin Munro, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner, Ish Sidhi, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor.
